Harbour Bridge structure over the harbor, with the Opera House on the left and buildings behind under a late-afternoon sky.

Harbour Bridge

The pedestrian path runs alongside the bridge over the harbor and opens up views of the Opera House; walking across the footway is different from the paid climb on the arch.

About Harbour Bridge

Climbing up to the Harbour Bridge footway changes your perspective: boats pass below, the Opera House appears from the side and the steel works its way into your photos. The pedestrian path is on the east side, between The Rocks and Milsons Point.

Crossing on the footway is free and different from the paid climb on the arch. There is traffic, noise and wind, so walk without blocking the way. You can return by public transport or cover just part of the bridge.
