About Huaqiangbei

What sells most here is not the phone but the parts that go inside it. Huaqiangbei covers about 2.9 km² of Futian and was home to some 38,000 companies in 2020, spread across malls where each stall specializes in one item: connectors, LEDs, batteries, screens, phone cases. Engineers, resellers and the merely curious share the same aisles.

The district's axis is Huaqiang Road, a pedestrian street lined with shopping buildings on both sides. Even if you buy nothing, it is worth watching the vendors test parts at the counter with surgeon-like speed. If you do buy, test everything on the spot and don't count on an international warranty.
