About Griffith Observatory

The boulevards draw lines across the city; behind it, the hills hold the Hollywood letters. Griffith Observatory lets you trade the scale of Los Angeles for the scale of the sky, with astronomy exhibits and terraces. The planetarium is a separate activity, subject to tickets and availability.

Late afternoon draws crowds, and parking is limited. Consider the DASH Observatory/Los Feliz and plan your return. Seeing the Hollywood Sign from here doesn't mean walking up to it: the letters are in a restricted area.
