Vienna State Opera

The Staatsoper lets you see its halls and auditorium on a guided tour, when available; hearing a performance takes a separate ticket and another block in your schedule.

  • Palaces and architecture
  • Suggested time:30 minutes to 1.5 hours
  • Area:Opernring, Innere Stadt

About Vienna State Opera

Before you hear a single aria, you can explore the staircase and the halls of the Wiener Staatsoper on a guided tour. The standard route ends in the auditorium, with a view of the stage. The visit explains how the house works without expecting you to recognize every composer from the first chord.

Dates depend on the Opera's schedule. If nothing fits, see the façade facing the Ring and keep walking. For a performance, check the running time and subtitles, and set aside an evening of its own: the tour does not include a show.
