About Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign
A white diamond, a red star and letters announcing your arrival: created by Betty Willis in 1959, the sign stands at the southern end of Las Vegas Boulevard. The circles in WELCOME recall silver coins; the souvenir photo also comes with a small design lesson.
Treat this as a trip of its own rather than a quick walking detour from the middle of the Strip. Use the access meant for visitors and check out the back too, with its goodbye to people leaving town. Arriving early saves your patience for the line.
