About Dalongdong Bao'an Temple

Construction of Bao'an began in 1804, on the site of a wooden shrine from 1742, and the temple is dedicated to Baosheng Dadi, also written Poh Seng Tai Tay. In 2003, the temple's conservation work received a UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Award, so it's worth taking your time with the wood and stone details.

From mid-April to mid-June, the Baosheng Cultural Festival celebrates the deity's birthday, and visitors at that time find the temple in a festive mood. Right beside it is the Taipei Confucius Temple, and the two visits fit into the same morning, no rush.
