About Eiffel Tower

In 1887, a group of artists and intellectuals signed a petition calling the project useless and monstrous. The tower was finished in 1889, with a contract to last 20 years, and escaped demolition for a decidedly unromantic reason: it became a support for radiotelegraphy. The symbol of Paris survived as an antenna.

And it moves. In the heat, the top can shift up to 18 cm away from the sun, and the wind makes the structure sway a few centimeters. You can go up by elevator or by stairs, open to the public up to the second level, about 600 steps above the ground. Take the stairs and you arrive out of breath and with a moral right to a sandwich.
