About Dragon's Back Trail

From the bus stop at To Tei Wan on Shek O Road, the trail climbs to Shek O Peak and follows the ridge that locals call Lung Chek, the dragon's back. It is narrow, with steep slopes on both sides, and shows the sea to the east and west at once, with the Clear Water Bay peninsula and Tung Lung Island in the distance.

The full route, of about 8.5 km, is part of Section 8 of the Hong Kong Trail and descends by the Pottinger Peak path to Big Wave Bay, where a picnic area awaits tired feet. The terrain is rugged: shoes with good grip and plenty of water make a difference.
